Kilkenny Engineers on Earnings High
8th Sep 2008

Prochem Engineering on target to achieve earnings growth of 10% for a fourth year in a row.

This would see revenue earnings for the Kilkenny based consulting engineers rise to €6.5m in 2009.

Speaking at the launch of its new €1.2m headquarters at Danville Business Park in Kilkenny city, managing director Matt O'Brien said steady growth in industrial and commercial projects valued up to €10m saw the projects division of the company grow by 20%.

Prochem carried out some 10 key projects so far in 2008, generating revenues of €2m.

Secondment also proved another profitable revenue stream for Prochem, generating nearly €3.5m and representing almost 60% of the company's revenue.

In addition to its engineering design and construction management services, the company is to diversify into recruitment to fuel further growth in 2009.

A stand alone recruitment arm will generate earnings of €150,000 over the next twelve months, say the engineers.
