T5 Chaos Could Cost £150m
4th Apr 2008

The chaos that accompanied the opening of much hyped Terminal 5 at London's Heathrow, had cost British Airways a hefty £16m, to date.

As Terminal 5 kicked into operation in late March, hundreds of flights were cancelled, thousands of bags went missing and passengers were forced to camp out in the airport.

Although the cost so far is close to what analysts had predicted, analysts at Deutsche Bank this week, predict the problems will persist into the summer and will total £150m.

However, the airline has now stated T5 will operate a full schedule of flights on Saturday, and if this happens, it will be first time the terminal has returned to normal operation since its opening day.

British Airways has exclusive use of Terminal 5.
