Student 'Eco Versity' Planned for UK
14th Mar 2008

A new eco village, housing students from the nearby Bradford colleges is set to be developed in the UK.

The £750m zero-carbon student complex is being backed by developers and two higher education institutions.

The quarter will involve the University of Bradford and Bradford College teaming up to create this ‘eco-versity’, which will accomodate 1,000 people with a further 80 apartments for mature students.

The scheme will centre around a £100m student quarter in the Listerhills area of the city, being developed by Manchester firm Mi7.

In addition three further developments of offices, shops and a science park will lead to £205m of extra investment, according to Bradford Centre Regeneration, the city’s development company.
