€100m investment in Bon Secours hospitals

The Bon Secours Health System has announced plans to invest €100m in its hospitals in Cork and Galway.

The group says €85m will be spent on a new multi-storey car park in Cork, as well as a new hospital wing containing 80 private rooms, three new theatres and a new cancer centre.

Some €15m will be invested in Galway to add 50 new bedrooms, a physiotherapy department and a dining room to the existing hospital building. The development represents phase two of an overall investment of €50 million on the Galway site.

“We are fully committed to a strategy which focuses on sustaining our business model and, indeed, protecting employment in the midst of an extremely challenging economic cycle”.
