Private and co-location projects vulnerable to tighter lending conditions

All of the co-location hospital projects are, according to the HSE National Service Plan 2009 “subject to satisfactory banking arrangements” but as the Minister for Health indicated, where it used to take only two or three banks to finance a project, it might now take five or six.

At the time of the CMG Business Information report went to print, it could be inferred that lending conditions would eventually ameliorate and unlock key projects in line with the economy’s redressing in the second half of 2009.

In terms of fully privately funded hospitals, it came to light that developers were also starting to run into difficulties.
