This 26.6 km dual carriageway is at preliminary design stage. A major three level junction is proposed at Rathmorrissy at the northern end of the scheme where the proposed road ties into the N6 Galway Ballinasloe scheme and the M17 Galway Tuam scheme. This project amalgamates three schemes: Patrickswell to Croom, Croom to Mallow and Mallow to Blarney. Construction will start in county Cork and end in County Limerick. €10m has been allocated between Cork CoCo and Limerick CoCo in 2009 for design purposes.
