| One of the busiest parts of the Blanchardstown Centre is set for a major makeover, which will create 550 jobs.
The Red Mall, which is home to shops such as Marks & Spencer and BT2, will see a massive renovation and extension that's going to cost around €40 million.
And when the 100,000 sq ft extension is done, there will be room for a major shopping unit along with 18 standard units.
Multi Corporation, which manages the Blanchardstown Centre, has submitted a planning application to Fingal County Council.
The application was submitted on Monday, and if approved it will lead to the creation of 300 permanent and 250 construction jobs.
The extension will take place over two levels, and will see some shops moved to allow for work to take place.
The public can submit any observations on the application until October 8.
Dominic Deeny, Managing Director of Multi Ireland said: “This development proposal is the second in a number of planned investments in Blanchardstown Centre.
"These investments will create the enhanced shopping experience that our customers expect, and will provide the range of unit sizes and configurations that retailers seeking a presence within Ireland’s leading retail location require.”
